Writing this is a bit painful, I had become accustomed to a direct HDMI connection on my screen where I was using a xrandr scale of 1440×900 to a 13xx x 768 display (more or about) which was pretty usable.
I am now writing this from Remmina, the “gnome” VNC client and I am using TigerVNCServer for it.
It’s *very* close, still not quite the same yet.
I was hoping to use NX as it is said to be a better performing protocol.
Basically I am using this computer only as a dumb client to the other computer.
I am hoping to use a simple Debian machine for it next, as a client, it doesn’t really need to have anything fancy, just to be able to be a client to the other machine.
When I install NoMachine on the server (Kubuntu 16.04) everything seems to be all right.
On the client, no errors either, at least not visibly (Cinnamon Sarah) (Mint). However, and I have seen this error here on this forum, but it was too painful to try to read and understand.
Whereas Remmina was not even able to connect (authentication error) the NoMachine client was able to log in (to its own server on the other machine).
However it gives an error as indicated in the subject.

Just some messages.
There is more, but I grow tired.
I just downloaded and installed the Ubuntu 16.04 debs, 64-bit for the Kubuntu (server) and 32-bit for the Mint (client).
