NoMachine doesn’t start

Hello,

i’m setting up some computers with the NoMachine NX and got troubles with one of them. I just installed this by .deb-file and as i wanted to run the program, it didn’t start. So, what’s the problem or how can i fix it? Already tried to uninstall, reboot and reinstall but the problem is not gone.

Can you tell us what product you installed? Are you trying to start a session or start the server? When you lauch the application to start a connection, does it open? To check if the server is running, can you see the NoMachine Monitor icon (look for a !M) in the systems tray. For example, see Fig. 2 here: https://www.nomachine.com/how-to-disable-access-to-the-local-desktop.

I’m using Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon 64-bit. I’m just trying to start a session. The program doesn’t even start if i try to run it by clicking.

Can you download the latest update and let us know if you are still experiencing the same problem? If so, server logs would be useful. Currently, we aren’t aware of any specific issues with Linux Mint.

I’m too using Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon 64-bit. I just have installed nomachine_4.2.22_1_i386.deb, and It doesn’t start.

Do I have to purchase for a licence for having license.lic and node.lic ?

I looked /opt/NX/var/log/nxinstall.log and could see it was OK except concerning the license. I had

Could not determine authorized_key filename.
NX> 700 Running: ‘/etc/NX/nxserver’ –startup.
NX> 700 Cannot start NX server

and also earlier in the log : NX> 700 Failed to run ‘/opt/NX/bin/nxkeygen’.

earlier ; /etc/NX/nxserver’ –validatenode.
NX> 700 Cannot validate node license file

I installed the 64bit version instead and now it runs fine without any problem.

I chose :

NoMachine for Linux – x86_64 with tar.gz package
