    I use the NoMachine free version and I connect to a Xubuntu 18.04 dedicated server. Using the default XFCE display settings panel, I cannot see other resolutions than 640×480, 800×600, and 1024×768.

    How can I use a bigger screen resolution that can actually match my monitor of 1080p?

    Hi,

    if your server side machine shows only those resolutions you will have to add it manually. You can follow instructions in this link to add any resolution you need.
