I’m connecting a Windows 10 laptop to a Windows 10 PC.  I connected successfully from my laptop at work from the same network as the PC, but when I tried to connect again from home I get “Authentication failed, please try again.”

I believe this has something to do with my router, but I’m not familiar enough with networking issues to be able to fix it.  Maybe something to do with port mapping, UPnP, or NAT.  I’m not very familiar with any of those and I am hoping this is a fairly straightforward problem that someone with a good working knowledge can fix quickly.

    Thank you.

    Hi Knockadoon,

We suggest as a first step to assure that the connection is arriving at the intended machine (the one at your workplace). This can be done by examining the nxd.log file and checking if there is any info about incoming connections at the time you tried.

If there is no incoming connection, you can try to set up access to the intended machine according to the following article:  How to connect to NoMachine when the server is behind a NAT router or a firewall
