I’ve been using NoMachine for several years with no major problems. But there is a minor one I’d like to fix.

There are no problems at all when connecting from my Linux box to a remote Windows laptop.

However, when I go from Windows to Linux, the Linux box’s fans go to max and stay there until reboot (fancontrol has no effect). Note that I don’t do this very often — once or twice a year.

This has been happening for the past few years.

My Linux box is generally well-behaved:

MB: X399 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (MS-7B09)

CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-Core Processor

    OS: Fedora (30 – 35)

The Windows machine is a Lenovo laptop running Windows 10; I can provide further details, if necessary.

I hardly know where to start debugging: NoMachine? Fedora? Windows? The hardware?

Any and all clues will be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Fred

I suspect one from the processes is eating up nearly all your CPU’s resources. Next time when it will happen please run ‘top’ command and show us results.

    Thanks
