Issue with Raspberry Pi 3B+ and app in command shell

I have NoMachine working fine on Raspberry Pi 3B+, I am connecting to it with a Windows machine.

I need to use a command shell to run a program on the pi. When I do, I can see the program running if I connect a monitor to the Pi, but NoMachine is only showing the Pi desktop on the Windows machine.

Sure would love to get this working where I can see the running program on the Windows machine.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I assume your Raspberry is headless. Did you follow the instructions in our tutorial?

sudo vim /boot/config.txt
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
sudo reboot

On RPi4 it’s not required anymore, but on RPi3 it is.
