Good evening all,
I would like to try NoMachine to deliver windows applications to my office users in order to improve their remote experience. We currently use terminal services for this purpose. Can you guide me how to use NoMachine to accomplice that. I have installed NoMachine terminal server on an Ubuntu machine. How do I configure it to connect from a windows 7 machine to my windows terminal server through NoMachine?
Or point me to a document, many thanks.

September 25, 2014 at 07:52 #4760archieParticipantMorning Britg,
Two q’s:
a) One link quotes “In version 4, the enterprise-oriented products Terminal Server, Enterprise Server and Cloud Server allow RDP-supported connections.” and the other one “RDP sessions can be supported only by NoMachine Enterprise Server and NoMachine Cloud Server and are not enabled by default.” Which enterprise product do I have to install for RDP Terminal server or Enterprise server?
b) rdesktop must be installed on NoMachine node host: Node host refers to NoMachine client or NoMachine server? If refers to client and since my clients are win7 do I still have to install it or native remote desktop connection utility is enough?

rdesktop client needs to be installed on the machine where you have installed the server, so in your case, it’s the Ubuntu machine 🙂

I have installed rdesktop in my NoMachine terminal server and followed the instructions here (https://www.nomachine.com/AR07J00645).
How do I connect now from my win7 to the windows terminal server through NoMachine server? When I use NoMachine client on my win7 to connect to the ubuntu machine I do just that, I make a connection to the ubuntu server not to my windows TS.
Thanks.
September 26, 2014 at 13:09 #4786BritgirlKeymasterWhich product did you decide to install? If you’ve followed the instructions in the article (so setting CommandStartRDP “rdesktop -f”, editing the AvailableSessionTypes key in the node.cfg and server.cfg), it should be out of the box, and when you see ‘Create a new virtual desktop’ in the GUI, an icon for RDP will also be there. See fig. 6 here https://www.nomachine.com/creating-new-virtual-desktop-sessions to see what I mean.
