I’m successfully using NoMachine to connect from my Windows home pc to Linux work pc. I’m using display settings of “Resize remote screen” + “Full-size on all screens”. This gives me my dual monitors at work displayed on my dual monitors at home.

However my monitors at work are lower resolution, so this gives me black borders at the top, bottom and sides (see file attachment 1).

I also have “Grab the keyboard input” enabled so I can alt-tab through my applications on the remote box.

The problem comes when I want to go back to my local Windows desktop. What’s the easiest way to do that? The only way I’ve discovered is Cntrl-Alt-0 (to get the NoMachine menu) followed by hunting down and clicking the “iconize” icon. This is too clunky and difficult for something that I will need to be doing a lot.

Ideally there would be a hot key for iconize!

Remote Linux box: Linux Mint 17 KDE, nomachine_4.2.27_1_amd64, free version

Local Windows box: Windows 7, 64-bit, NoMachine 4.2.27, free version

    Hi rhand.

We’ve just released version 4.3 implementing shortcuts. By default you can use Ctrl+Alt+M to minimize. It can be changed from Input and Preferences dialogs.

    Hi snejok. đŸ™‚
You can find a description of the feature and a list of supported shortcuts here: https://www.nomachine.com/FR04L02812

Each shortcut can be reconfigured or disabled, so you can decide which keys combination better fits your need and most of all avoid clashes with shortcuts existing in the local or remote Operating System.
