    Hey,

I can’t get HW encoding server-side work. My system is Manjaro with everything up to date. Display: X11.

I also tried export LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=iHD with no luck.

But when I physically login on the local machine I have no problems with HW acceleration. Only as soon as I create a new remote session via NoMachine I’m lost.

In this thread someone with an Intel alder lake CPU had the same problem as I do with a raptor lake CPU. Both CPUs use the same onboard GPU. There it says that “Support for VA-API is planned and we are currently working on adding support for VPL”.

So am I right that I can stop trying finding a workaround to get GPU HW encoding working for NoMachine sessions?  Do I just have to wait until some update will deliver a solution?

    Many thanks.

Hi, the next maintenance 8.12 will indeed add support for Intel’s VPL coming soon.
