Hello! I made a complete remote control radio transceiver. Everything works, sound goes both ways. I can switch the transceiver between transmission and reception, change the frequency, etc.. After a while it disconnects the usb sound card and the sound stops, how can I leave the USB device on all the time so that it does not turn off?

Hi, please tell us what NoMachine software you have installed and the exact steps to reproduce the problem in the NoMachine remote desktop connection. Thanks.

Hi, The USB sound card is shared. There is a Windows computer on the client side. Everything works, I can listen to the radio on the computer. I noticed that the sound stops after exactly 2 hours. Sharing seems to work from the Raspberry Pi5. In this case I stop sharing and share again and it works again for 2 hours.

Is there no such limitation because of the free version? If I buy the software, won’t this shortcoming go away?

Could you check if problem also occurs without NM usb forwarding on RPi and on other machines? Does the same thing happen without forwarding? What is the sound card model that you are using? Does your RPi have some power limits set?

Hi. Thanks for the answers. I tried several USB sound cards. If I don’t share it, it doesn’t stop, it works continuously on the RPi. When I share it, it works fine for a while and appears as a normal audio device on the client side. By monitoring the device, I can hear the sound from the remote audio input (analog audio line input). When it stops after a while, apparently nothing changes. NoMachine also indicates that it is shared on the RPi. On the client side, it is also there in the device manager and audio devices, but only apparently, in which case the client side device manager and sound settings basically freeze, and in this case nothing can be set. In this case, you either need to restart the Windows computer on the client side or turn off the share and re-share and it will work again. I may not be able to solve this. Regardless, congratulations on the software and the added support. I might buy the software later.

Hi, are you able to send us complete logs, from both the player and server sides? You can extract them using the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243. For the player session logs you need to refer to “Fourth step” in that document. Also, system logs (journalctl) would be useful as well.

Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please use the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!
