White screen via LAN or Internet Ubuntu 24.10

Hi,

I’m running Ubuntu 24.10 (Gnome 47.0) on both my client and server machines.
NoMachine Free Version 8.16.1 on both machines.

I cannot connect to the server via the LAN when I’m at home or via the internet when I’m away from home.

I get the white screen on both and eventually a connection timeout error.

I have disabled hardware decoding AND encoding per #46185

I have also collected the logs.

In the attached screenshots, nitro is the server and yoga is the client.

How do I send you my logs so I’m not putting my IP addresses on a public forum?

Hi, in the logs we see a number of different errors, both Wayland and X11 sessions fail. But first let’s investigate Wayland.

Can you show us the output of the following dbus method call ‘GetCurrentState’ to check if the monitor configuration looks correct? To do that you need to install the d-feet application and run the method as highlighted in the screenshot (below) by double clicking it.

Also, try connecting when the server machine’s screen is not locked. Do you still get the white screen?

Weird – I thought I was only using Wayland on both.

I’m also wondering which machine I should be running this on? I’m assuming you mean the server?
I’m away from home at the moment so can only run it on the client.
I will run it on the server when I get home next week.
