    Hi,

I use nxplayer to connect to a remote (Linux)-desktop from another Linux machine. Using this command line

    /usr/NX/bin/nxplayer --session /home/user/NoMachine/something.nxs

A window pops up where I need to click on the “physical desktop” icon (the only one showed). How can I prevent that and directly connect to the physical desktop instead?

    Best regards,

    Stefan

    Hi,
the window that pops up is the NoMachine panel showing what desktops are available. When you connect to a Terminal Server product, Terminal servers always show this panel because it asks you to select either the physical or a virtual desktops. I’m assuming you have a TS product installed, so you could try the free edition or the Enterprise Desktop product, both of which are for connecting to the physical display only. In that case, your command will connect you directly to the desktop.

    Hi,

hm – I am using a workstation product (v8.15.3_1 / x86_64) on both sides already with a Lic-Key. So what else can be the problem then?

    Best regards,

    Stefan

The Workstation Server is part of the Terminal Server family, so the normal behaviour described by Britgirl is the reason why you see that panel. If you need to force the automatic connection to the physical desktop you could use a debugging feature: press Ctrl+Alt, right click the Physical Desktop item and select “Always connect to this desktop”. Please note that this configuration is not meant to be used to bypass the desktops list panel, so for example when you’ll restart that server the physical desktop session ID will change, and you’ll have to repeat the same operation.
By the way, don’t forget you have a direct channel to the support team with subscriptions from our Enterprise suite.
