Please could we have the option for a ‘silent notification’.

My interpretation is a Status-bar/taskbar notification instead of the notifications that display over the windows. It could also be that the status bar always shows the last currently connected session.

My use case is remoting Lighting Control software in TV Studios which operate on closed local networks where we don’t allow internet.

Because TV sets are congested with WiFi signals we often get short drop outs before reconnecting, in bad cases we end up with notifications stacking up across the screen.

It could be an option to disable the notifications, but I do like seeing the connected session from the host PC.

We’re moving over to Linux from Windows since Microsoft retired and rolled RDP into their new Windows App, and our industry relies heavily on RDP. We’re thankful that NoMachine exists and that it’s much more straightforward to use.

It would also be able to have dark notifications as we work in very environments (or for them to follow the taskbar colour).

Hi, if I get exactly what you are asking for, you’d like a simple notification, bubble or change of colour of the task bar icon, signalling there is a notification but without the notification popping up. Is this correct?

The problem with removing the notification is that these notifications are extremely important for the security, given that we are talking about an application that lets other people connect when you are doing something critical on the screen. We deal with this specific problem, in this specific article here: http://www.nomachine.com/AR07W01313.

That said, when you are in an environment where activity between users is very open, where people work all day together and where what is on the screen is shared information and a pop-up may not be necessary, for the simple nature of the environment in which you work, we could reconsider our approach, for example, with a configuration key could be a possibility. We listen to our users, of course, and we are monitoring how many other people are requesting the same.

Yeah that’s right, having the notification itself isn’t the issue, it’s that it can cover the window.

I understand that a feature like this would have to be secure for other users, even if we don’t necessarily need it for ourselves, so having a configuration key would be an ideal solution.

Thank you for giving this consideration.
