I have the evaluation enterprise and terminal server node, 2 of each for a proof of concept. I have compiled the libx264 as described on this site when I set the node.cfg to h264 I still see it as vp8 in the nxplayer. Please help. The machine are physical Linux Centos 7 machines. They are headless but I do run dummy xservers and I have tried bot KDE and gnome
January 26, 2015 at 12:31 #6046fra81ModeratorHi vstubbs.
Have you downloaded the libx264 sources from our web site and followed the instructions in https://www.nomachine.com/AR10K00695? As exaplained in the article, the libx264 library with our modification is required.
Have you enabled the codec also on client side as explained in https://www.nomachine.com/AR10K00696?
If you followed all the steps and H.264 is still not used, please send us the logs for further investigation. You can find instructions in https://www.nomachine.com/AR07K00677. You can attach them here or email to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

January 27, 2015 at 18:14 #6083HavenParticipantHello vstubbs,
Thank you for sending the logs. We found serious issues with installation reported from both machines. Some of them are:Subscription file /usr/NX/etc/server.lic has wrong permissions. Correct permissions are 0400 Cannot open lock file '/usr/NX/etc/nodes.db.lock': Permission denied Initialization: Cannot open file /usr/NX/etc/server.cfg: No such file or directory
We suggest to uninstall NoMachine software, remove the /usr/NX/ directory and proceed with a fresh install.
January 28, 2015 at 13:36 #6088vstubbsParticipantI have done a clean fresh install, the system delivers session once again. but the h264 still refuses to work
January 28, 2015 at 17:23 #6089vstubbsParticipantAfter a clean install on the enterprise server I found this in the nxd.log

January 28, 2015 at 17:35 #6081vstubbsParticipantSo what could be causing the
Error: No nodes available for user’s profile’.
it only started yesterday before I could get a session
January 29, 2015 at 10:30 #6105vstubbsParticipantI have even downloaded you 4.4.6 versions of the rpm the library, and recomplied and even though every thing works there is still no way to get H.264 to be used as the codec.
January 29, 2015 at 13:55 #6112fra81ModeratorSo what could be causing the
Error: No nodes available for user’s profile’.
That problem seems due to a wrongly formatted key in the cfg file:
Error: Parse error at display option h264,mjpeg,clipboard.
Consider that no change is required in the configuration in order to get H.264 working. If you leave the defaults, H.264 will be automatically used when available.
Anyway, if I understand, you are now able to connect. So please send us a new set of logs when the session is running, as per instructions in my post above. We need client and server side logs.
