opoplawskiParticipantOne of our users is experiencing strange hanging in certain applications when connecting with NoMachine. There even seems to be some interaction with local applications if the NoMachine connection is up.
Sorry this is vague, but it’s a very strange thing. Is anyone else seeing this?
EL8.10, NoMachine 8.11.3

BritgirlKeymasterThere even seems to be some interaction with local applications if the NoMachine connection is up.
Do you mean that even if the application seems to hang, the user can still move the mouse and/or key press events show on the remote desktop?
Is the display server Wayland or Xorg?
What desktop environment is the user connecting to on the EL host?
Is the user connecting to a free NoMachine host? Is it headless?July 23, 2024 at 18:18 #48903
opoplawskiParticipantThis is KDE on Xorg. It is a headless host. Client is the free version. One host is using the free version, another is the workstation version.

BritgirlKeymasterIf you attach a monitor to the server do the applications hang?

opoplawskiParticipantThis was caused by our attempts to automatically register the nomachine pkcs11 module via /usr/share/p11-kit/modules/nomachine.module:
module: /usr/NX/lib/libpkcs11.so
When not running in a nomachine environment this causes problems, at perhaps inside of one as well.

BritgirlKeymasterHi, maybe your answer is for your other topic? 🙂
Export this smart card reader at session startup does not work

opoplawskiParticipantNo. Our attempt to address that issue broke firefox and other applications.

BritgirlKeymasterClear. So we will need logs when this behaviour is reproduced. Please submit from both sides, not forgetting the client sides logs as well. Please see the instructions here for those: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT09T00266. For clients side logs please refer to the section “Fourth Step: Collect Client Side Logs”. You can submit them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
If the smartcard has a UBS interface, could you try forwarding the device using the USB option instead? Does it show?
