Hi!
I’m using NoMachine 5.0.47 with the option “Lock the physical screen when somebody connects”. This works fine but when I get back at work to use my desktop again, the screen is blacked out and I can’t do anything with it, even changing terminal with ctrl+alt+F5 doesn’t work. It seems like my desktop is doing something (the screen flickers) but it always stays black and I can’t do anything. The only solution is ssh and reboot or a force reboot with the power button.
I tried disconnecting gracefully with the client, same thing.
I can reconnect with the client fine but the screen will always stay black on my physical desktop.
Any ideas?
Thanks

November 11, 2015 at 18:31 #9057loginatnineParticipantOups sorry I was sure I mentioned this.
Desktop at work -> Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca
Client used to connect -> NoMachine 5.0.47 on Windows 7

November 16, 2015 at 13:24 #9106fra81ModeratorHi!
Unfortunately we weren’t able to reproduce your issue in our labs with the same desktop environment. Are you sure that there are no NoMachine connections left at the moment of the black screen (e.g. you had connected from home and forgot to close the connection before going to work)?
More info about the hardware could help us match your environment more closely, mainly about graphics card and drivers.
November 17, 2015 at 10:47 #9107loginatnineParticipantYes I am absolutely sure about the connections. Actually, I even tried to restart nxserver by ssh’ing into my box without success. Can I help you out with some logs maybe? Here is some info about my desktop :

November 17, 2015 at 19:30 #9114fra81ModeratorWould you help us debugging this issue by running a debug library? In this case, please contact us to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com so we can send you the library and instructions.
November 18, 2015 at 09:35 #9118loginatnineParticipantWith pleasure, email sent!
November 18, 2015 at 17:30 #9131BritgirlKeymasterWe will be sending you an email soon with further instructions.
November 26, 2015 at 16:02 #9184BritgirlKeymasterThanks for the additional information that you submitted with the logs. We have found out what the problem is and one of our developers will update the topic soon. Can you update the forum post with what you wrote in your email? 🙂
November 30, 2015 at 11:05 #9198loginatnineParticipantSure, thx for the support!
Here’s what I wrote in the email, I’ve narrowed the bug down while reproducing it with the debug library:
My work computer (nomachine server) has 2 physical screens. My home computer (nomachine client) has 1 physical screen. Therefore, each time I remote desktop to my work computer, I hit the display options of linux mint to disable the second screen so everything is rendered properly. This is what triggers the bug. After doing this, even with restoring the 2 screens before disconnecting, I hit the bug.
If I don’t change the display options, everything works properly.
