It seems like its been “coming soon” for a long time, especially when all the documentation pops up in the support center.
September 18, 2015 at 18:13 #8261BritgirlKeymasterNext week 😉 Have you signed up to our mailing list? https://www.nomachine.com/mailing-lists
September 21, 2015 at 08:43 #8264TeutonJon78ParticipantExcellent. I’ll be interested to see what new in it.
September 21, 2015 at 08:54 #8280BritgirlKeymasterA quick overview of what’s coming up 🙂 Screen blanking, internationalization of GUI, native GUI (set either native or the traditional ‘dark’), resolution slider in the Display settings to let you dynamically change the resolution to your specific requirements, enhanced performance (we’ve added support for Nvidia’s Maxwell architecuture (see the recent videos on our FB page for examples), improved multi-monitor support, out-of-the-box support for Linux headless servers, oh and a few more things for the enterprise-oriented range such as Kerberos ticket-based authentication and enhanced remote node management.
September 22, 2015 at 08:36 #8305TeutonJon78ParticipantI’m interested in the resolution slider. Does that change the server resolution, or the size of the window/scaling on the client?
In testing all of the remote options lately, I very much like how the VNC servers let you scale the display to your windows and zoom in and out without affecting the resolution of the server (which can cause the server desktop to move icons around and such). I find NoMachine 4.x very lacking in that regard. Of course, it makes it up in other areas.
Sounds like a good release.
September 23, 2015 at 11:11 #8323fra81ModeratorScaling the display to fit your window is already possible in version 4. Please open the menu panel and find the ‘Fit to window’ icon in the Display settings. That is also available in the quick action icons at the bottom of the menu panel.
September 23, 2015 at 20:14 #8326TeutonJon78ParticipantI already use it, but it would also be nice to have a “maintain aspect ratio” option so that the screen just scaled without distorting. It would of course leave some black bars sometimes.
September 29, 2015 at 20:14 #8411neocryptekParticipantEagerly awaiting 5 release; hoping it helps with the windows domain login problems that prevent me from using it on Windows host (can’t authenticate to unlock change of any server settings). Has there been a delay?
September 29, 2015 at 20:46 #8421BritgirlKeymasterWe’re just concluding the last phase of testing, so not long now 🙂 The windows domain problem you mention is no longer an issue in version 5.
