Arrow keys don’t work

I have problem similar to this. I’m connecting from Windows 10 machine to Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS. Up, left, and right arrows don’t work, down works like Enter, the rest between numpad, and main keyboard is affected too – most don’t work, delete works as print screen.

Please, would you send the results of commands (in remote session):

setxkbmap -print

xprop -root | grep XKB

xinput list

I see this:

_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "/usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/evdev", "pc105", "us,pl,us", ",,", ""

I think the problem would go away if the rules part were set to “evdev”. Please try to run this command in the remote session:

setxkbmap -rules evdev -model evdev -layout us,pl,us

disconnect and reconnect.

Thanks, it helped. I have one other question (sorry, I just installed NoMachine today). Is it possible to use keyboard shortcuts like ctrl + alt + T? Also, when working on Linux machine, shortcuts with windows key have effect on Windows machine, and no effect on Linux.

Take a look of Input preference in the NoMachine Player settings: you can change shortcuts definitions included Ctrl+Alt+T.

For WinKey, you need to start the remote session, invoke the NoMachine menu with Ctrl+Alt+0, select Input tab and check “Grab the keyboard input”.

I have the same problem. From Ubuntu 19.10 to Ubuntu 19.10. Version 6.9.2. Arrow Keys, End, Home… were not working.

This also helps me

setxkbmap -rules evdev -model evdev -layout si,gb

It was so annoying because arrow keys were not working. Thank you for this workaround.
