I it possible to configure NoMachine client to ask before closing a connection?
It happens too often to me that I enter cmd+w wanting to close a window on the remote machine but close the player window/connection instead.

If you’re trying to close the window on the remote machine, you could try enabling “grab the keyboard” from the connection menu (https://kb.nomachine.com/DT06S00218#3. ) or setting it in advance in the Player settings (https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00236#2.1). You can also toggle this setting using the keyboard shortcut with Ctrl Alt(Option) K for macOS.

I already have enabled “grab the keyboard”. Probably I should have mentioned that I’m on macOS Sonoma on both sides. So it is probably somehow related to the already reported issue with keyboard grabbing on Sonoma https://kb.nomachine.com/TR03V11102.

It could be. You can verify this by checking whether it happens when activating another window, then going back to the NoMachine client window. In that case you can keep the keyboard grab working correctly when the NoMachine client is selected by clicking the Dock icon, by using Command + Tab and by selecting the window in Mission Control.
