I think I have lost track of where this currently stands…I’m looking at this which still appears to be an open issue:

    https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/TR04S10212
Am I correct that audio is still not forwarding to NoMachine client from an Apple M1 machine used as NoMachine server?

I can’t seem to get it to forward audio to the client or mute the audio on the server when the screen is blanked….perhaps I’ve missed something or it’s just still something we will have to wait for, please adivise?

    Thanks very much!

    Hi Brian,

Yes, you can forward audio on M1 Mac NoMachine client, but currently, audio forwarding for M1 Mac servers is not available. This TR is about M1 Mac client.

This TR’s fix and audio forwarding for M1 mac servers will be available in the next release.

Thanks very much for that update I will be excited to try the update once it is released…any thoughts on a timeframe as to when that might be expected to be available? (As in would it be weeks, months?)

I am sorry, but at this point, we are not able to provide an ETA.
As for Audio when the M1 is used as a client, it will be fixed in the next weeks.

They’ve basically been saying it will be in NoMachine 8 since last year. While they’re fixing some M1 bugs in the 7.x.x series, audio and keyboard drivers for ARM Apples will be in version 8. Searching the forums and Google for announcements of a version 8 beta has been fruitless, so don’t count on it until 2022 unless all the betas are secret and the version 8 release sneaks up on us.

    Hi everyone,
yesterday we released new NoMachine 7.7.4.

You can read about it https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/SU10S00227

    There is that mention there:

problems related to macOS on M1 such as black screen, screen blanking not deactivated and audio not working.

So, as I said before, now audio forwarding works in M1 mac in both ways, when you use it as client or server.

Fantastic…works great! Audio now forwards from my M1 as server to my client devices 🙂 Thank you very much for the update!
