    On NoMachine for Linux, is there a way to change the key used to switch windows?  Currently I can only achieve ALT-TAB with the RIGHT command key instead of the left command key

    You could enable the keyboard grabbing and use the same shortcut to cycle windows on your local and remote desktop. However if you still want to change the default shortcut, you should do it in the remote system configuration, not in NoMachine.
