I originally ran NoMachine (Free version) on my Ubuntu desktop using Ubuntu 20.04. I upgraded to 22.04, and it was still working, but ever since upgrading to 24.04 I have not been able to share the desktop anymore.

I have tried updating my graphics drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling NoMachine.

The link in the bottom right of the interface says Desktop not shared and is greyed out, clicking it does nothing and I am not able to change it. It says the server is running. Guest access is enabled, as well as system user access.

    What are my options?

Hi, did you already try restarting the nxserver from the server settings on the Ubuntu host?

Is Ubuntu running on a physical machine or is in a virtual machine? Is the display server X org or Wayland?

Are you able to send us the server-side logs so we can check them? You can extract them using the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243. Please enable debug as explained in the instructions, then try restarting the server and extract the logs.

Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please use the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!
