    Trying to connect to a Fedora 35 PC with the latest version of NoMachine, it’s not possible to authenticate. The PC is using AD for login authenticaton & I can login via ssh or locally without issue.

    A similar problem occurred when we used NIS in the past – https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/error-cannot-authenticate-to-the-requested-node

    This is what’s logged on the nxserver.log file:

    1297388 1297388 2022-08-30 09:29:49 440.608 NXSERVER WARNING! Process ‘/usr/NX/bin/nxexec –auth’ with pid ‘1297435/1297435’ finished with exit code 1 after 0,170 seconds.

    1297388 1297388 2022-08-30 09:29:49 441.136 NXSERVER ERROR! Authentication with ‘NX-password’ from host ‘10.1.80.73’ failed. Error is ‘Wrong password or login’.

    The client reports authentication failed & to try again.

    Hi,

    we’ve just updated an article that will help with configuring your Fedora NoMachine server in an AD domain using the NX protocol.

    Connecting with NX protocol to a NoMachine server on Linux in an Active Directory domain

    Thank you very much! Adding that single line to sssd.conf got everything working.

    ad_gpo_map_network = +nx
