    Hello to everyone.

I’ve installed NoMachine server on my jetson nano and NoMachine client on Windows 10 and I see a flickering problem (about 10 flashes per second with random intervals, is random even between flashes). It happens while I login on Ubuntu 18.04 from Windows 10 using the NoMachine client. How can I fix this really annoying problem ? thanks.

    Hi,

is there a monitor attached to the board? If not, can you try to attach a monitor and see if the issue persists?

    – NoMachine product (7.0.211) and version on local : Windows 10

    – NoMachine product (7.0.211) and version on remote : ubuntu 18.04 for arm 64 (on jetson nano)

    – Whether the problem arises connecting to a physical or a virtual display : it happens when I connect the NoMachine client on Windows 10 to a NoMachine server running on ubuntu / jetson nano

    – Remote and local Windows/Mac/Linux version (Windows XP/7/8, OS X 10.x, Ubuntu xyz, Mint x.y, etc.) : client = Windows 10 ; remote server = cinnamon on ubuntu 18.04 for arm 64 (nvidia version)

    – If on Linux, desktop version (GNOME. KDE, whatever) on client and on server : cinnamon

When I use nomachine I detach the monitor from the board and I see the flickering. If I use the board with the monitor attached, without NoMachine,I don’t see the flickering. I’ve attached a video to show you what I mean for flickering.

Hi, can you send the video to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? Use the title of this topic as the subject. Thanks 🙂

    Hi,

the flickering is very likely a problem of the video drivers when working headless. You can verify that by leaving the monitor attached when connecting through NoMachine.

ok. but the point here is if I can fix it,because I don’t have an additional monitor to attach to the jetson nano.

Quoting from the article I linked to in your other topic:

“A common solution, valid for all the supported Operating Systems, is to adopt a fake display dongle (also called ‘dummy dongle’) inserted in the video card port to simulate the presence of a screen and force the system to take full advantage of the GPU as if a real monitor is connected. In case of a Linux host it’s necessary to reboot the machine or restart the display manager to make this operative.”

Check if the Jetson Nano forums on the nvidia developers forum have any other suggestions, maybe?
