I have been having issues with enabling Intel ARC A380 quicksync encoder.
I have followed all instructions I can and installed Intel-Media-SDK and Media-Driver, Libva etc…
But alas no luck.I did a debug session and noticed some interesting things.
PS. Also my Audio does not work in NoMachine, yet to get a fix for that. Notice the log errors.

April 1, 2024 at 02:17 #47599gerardParticipantStarting to believe that NoMachine has not realized that the OneVPL is now the replacement to MediaSDK.
This is only reason I can think of why NoMachine can’t use hw encoding at present.
But for sake of argument I did install the old mediasdk files according to guides provided and it did not resolve them problem for me. No HW encoding for Intel Arc380 under ARCH.
I wonder if it works under other Linux distributions that aren’t running a OLD kernel setup.

April 2, 2024 at 11:42 #47614timoParticipantHi,
it certainly doesn’t work for us with an Intel ARC 380* on a recent Fedora 39.

April 2, 2024 at 13:02 #47617BritgirlKeymasterOneVPL is now the replacement to MediaSDK.
Indeed. In fact support for OneVPL will be added in the next update (coming soon).
April 2, 2024 at 13:34 #47619timoParticipantThis is actually fantastic news!
July 16, 2024 at 16:13 #48813BritgirlKeymasterPlease try the latest 8.12 now that we’ve added support for Intel’s OneVPL.
July 22, 2024 at 15:29 #48889timoParticipantJust wanted to let you know with 8.12.12 we can finally succefully enable hardware encoding with our ARC A380 (Fedora 40).
Thanks for supporting this.
