Intel ARC encoding issues on Arch

I have been having issues with enabling Intel ARC A380 quicksync encoder.

I have followed all instructions I can and installed Intel-Media-SDK and Media-Driver, Libva etc…
But alas no luck.

I did a debug session and noticed some interesting things.

PS. Also my Audio does not work in NoMachine, yet to get a fix for that. Notice the log errors.

We’re checking the Quick Sync error. With regards to audio, can you tell us the distribution and version, display manager/desktop environment?

Starting to believe that NoMachine has not realized that the OneVPL is now the replacement to MediaSDK.

This is only reason I can think of why NoMachine can’t use hw encoding at present.

But for sake of argument I did install the old mediasdk files according to guides provided and it did not resolve them problem for me. No HW encoding for Intel Arc380 under ARCH.

I wonder if it works under other Linux distributions that aren’t running a OLD kernel setup.

Using NoMachine v8.11.3-1 which is on the AUR and works. I have also tried the git version but there is no difference in the behavior in these cases.

Please try the latest 8.12 now that we’ve added support for Intel’s OneVPL.

Just wanted to let you know with 8.12.12 we can finally succefully enable hardware encoding with our ARC A380 (Fedora 40).
