    Hi, all,

I’m trying to run NoMachine in a immutable Fedora version (Silverblue). This means that /usr is read only, even for root. So I need to change the destination to /tmp/nxserver.log or any folder where I can write (as root). The config files are located in /usr/NX/etc, so they cannot be changed, either. I tried to put a server.cfg in /etc/NX/ but it is being ignored when I start the service (via systemctl).

    I’m using free version 8.14.2

    Any comments or ideas?

    Thanks,

    Luana from Buenos Aires, Argentina

I found out that most folders are defined in installation scripts that are originally installed in /usr/NX/scripts/setup

I just want to know if it is safe to modify those scripts to install and run NoMachine server and node in OTHER folders and run them from there.

    Thanks in advance,

    Luana from Buenos Aires, Argentina

Hi, yes this is possible on immutable systems, including with the free edition. Take a look at our article in the knowledge base and let us know if you have further questions:
