Hi.  I’m using a multi-window NoMachine session on a Windows XP system to connect to a Linux system.  I use emacs as my Linux editor.  I exit emacs by pressing ctrl-x ctrl-c (really ctrl-xc, meaning I never release the ctrl).  When I do this, I often (but not always) get the letter c repeating in the last active NoMachine window.  I have to press some key — ESC, BC, etc. — to get it to stop.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior?  Seems like emacs is getting the ctrl-x ctrl-c (it closes), but then NoMachine thinks that the c is still pressed.  Maybe a sticky-key mapping issue?

    Thanks.

PS:  I’m running the NoMachine Enterprise Client, v5.1.62

I think keyboard autorepeat mode is “on” in the virtual (server side) display. If you have a terminal emulator among the remote applications then you can turn autorepeat off using this command:

    xset r off

Notice that client-side autorepeat is not affected by this command, so nothing would change from the user’s point of view. You get problems because autorepeat is “on” for both client and server.

I think the default value should be “off”, likely this should be fixed in NoMachine server.

Unfortunately, that’s already in my .kshrc, so I guess that’s not it.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks.

I cannot think about other workarounds. I’m going to open a trouble report.
