    Hello,
I have a fresh installation of Linux Mint 21 and NoMachine for -x86_64, amd64 (8.14.2_1) and I am connecting from Ubuntu and the same version of NoMachine.

When the Mint machine is equipped with a display monitor, the connection runs fine but if I replace the monitor by a dummy key, I have no menu tray or windows buttons displayed.

As this Mint machine should be used as a local server, it should be working monitor-less.

    Any idea to fix this?

    Thank you in advance.

Hi, to make your computer headless, you could try killing X and using our own virtual framebuffer, see this article for more details, https://kb.nomachine.com/AR03P00973, point 1.

    Hi,

Sorry to come back so late but I have been quite busy.
Your solution works fine, as long as I do not turn the computer off.

When I turn it on again, I have to turn the X server down and start the virtual frame buffer again.

How can I automatize this at startup?

    Thank you in advance

    Try with

    sudo systemctl set-default multi-user.target

    Thank you.

I uninstalled Linux Mint and installed Ubuntu. The default desktop sharing works fine.
