qqalexnParticipantWhat do I type on Linux Client to effect CMD S on mac?
E.g., I can’t use Linux end to generate file – save command (CMD-S) on mac end.
NoMachine setting -GrabKeyboard doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Using Mac’s keyboard viewer, I can’t find a Linux client key that activates the Mac CMD key.
More generally, Is there an up-to-date document for how to use MAC host keyboard shortcuts from Linux client?
Thanks.

graywolfParticipantIt depends on the application on the Linux server but Ctrl+S often means “Save”. An “control” key on the mac keyboard is interpreted as Ctrl. So try control+S.
I’m afraid such a document about mac keyboard shortcuts does not exist.

qqalexnParticipantThanks. CTL – S doesn’t work, because CTL maps to CTL.
Mac needs CMD, but SUPER key is grabbed by Linux Mint for menu and the nomachine’s -grabkeyboard doesn’t seem to affect this behavior when nomachine’s window has the focus.
I use the Mac’s keyboard viewer to see what a Linux Client keypress maps to on Mac.
Need something that maps from Linux keyboard ? key to Mac CMD.
I can’t be the first person trying this. Must be documented somewhere, no?
Thanks!

graywolfParticipantWould you try to run the client wiht –active grab option:
nxplayer --activegrabA way to remap the modifier keys will be released soon:

qqalexnParticipantI did this
nxplayer --activegrab.I didn’t find it did anything different. Nor did checking or unchecking the “grab the keyboard.” settings option.
So I don’t see how a Mac server is fully usable with NoMachine from a non-mac client.

graywolfParticipantCould you tell me the version of Linux Mint in use so we can try to reproduce?
Notice that –activegrab does not turn on the keyboard grab automatically: you have to check “Grab the keyboard” in the Input settings anyway.

qqalexnParticipantLinux Mint Cinnamon 19.3.
Clearly, it would be helpful if all the keyboard grabbing and key mapping options were documented together in an up-to-date document. It would be nice if it would explain their use for a situation like mine, which would not seem to be very novel. E.g., Linux client, Mac server.
Thanks!
