Hello,
I’m running NoMachine 6.5.6 on a couple remote hosted macOS machines running Mojave.
About once a week on one of them I receive a “No Sessions Available” message when trying to connect.
Restarting the remote machine over SSH appears to resolve the issue.
Does anyone know what might cause this?

May 27, 2019 at 16:00 #22447NikolasParticipantHi,
I am having a similar problem. I installed the free NoMachine 6.7.6 recently on my Mac (MacOS 10.14.4) and on a headless Linux machine (Debian GNU/Linux 8.11). Our IT administrator did the latter, as I don’t have administrator rights for the server.
NoMachine worked fine for several days and suddenly I only got the progress wheel when trying to connect to my server (“Connecting to server”). Restarting the software and my computer did not help, so I killed all NoMachine related processes under my user account on the server. Now, when I connect and after inserting my password, I get the message “No available sessions on this server”, but I can’t create a new session.
Restarting the server is not an option for me as this is a shared computing server.
Please help!
Thanks,
Nikolas

Thank you for the logs.
It seems you have encountered a bug in the cleaning old connection procedure. We are investigating it further.
Unfortunately right now the only way to fix it would be to restart the NoMachine service by running:
# /etc/NX/nxserver --restart

It worked at first, though the command is:
/etc/NX/nxserver --restart
However, after I was able to create a new session, I exited it again and now I’m in the same situation again. I guess another restart of the NX server will be necessary every time a new session should be created.
Cheers,
Nikolas
June 5, 2019 at 11:56 #22564BritgirlKeymaster/etc/NX/nxserver --restart
The problem is that — has to be enclosed with the ‘code’ tags which I have now corrected in both Mth and Nikolas’ posts 😉
