More on inverted video

I know this has been an issue in the past and there’s a KB article saying that after updating to Big Sur you need to restart the server and give it the necessary priorities.

However, on my M1 MBP, this inverted video problem happens (seemingly) randomly.  When the video is inverted you cannot control anything.  Restarting the server fixes the problem.  But that’s a pain when you’re not near the computer you’d like to control.

Are there any further updates on how to fix this?

Can you try and toggle NoMachine off and on again in Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Screen recording in the macOS system preferences? And restart the server.
