I use NoMachine to control a Mac from Windows 7 and don’t like some of the mouse behavior.
Whenever I click down on the mouse to drag the cursor over text to copy it, the mouse cursor jumps almost 2 lines above, until I release the mouse button.
Also, the mouse reaction is more delayed when copying text, making it easy to overshoot the area I’m copying.
Any way to turn off this behavior?

This issue is not known with NoMachine V8. In order to help us investigate, can you please confirm which versions you have on the Client and on the Server ?
And let us know if the problem is related to a specific application ?
Thanks in advance,
April 11, 2023 at 15:10 #43797redss55ParticipantThe client is 8.4.2 on Windows7 and the server is 8.4.2 on Mac Monterrey
The cursor jumping happens in every app on the mac where I can drag the cursor to select text, for example Chrome & Edge browsers, TextEdit, Intellij IDEA….

Actually, any time I click on the screen, I see the mouse cursor appear a couple lines above where I clicked, even though the effective coordinates of the mouseclick are accurate to where I clicked.
Does that help?
April 21, 2023 at 11:00 #43976BritgirlKeymasterWe’re not able to reproduce. Is the misalignment bigger if you click in the bottom right corner of the screen. What about if you click in the top left corner, is the misalignment the same as clicking in the bottom right or is it almost unnoticeable?
Could you send us a recording showing the problem with one of the more common applications you use (e.g Chrome) and also the server side logs?
Please see the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243.
You can submit everything via email to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, include the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!
April 24, 2023 at 13:16 #43997BritgirlKeymasterHi, we got your nxd attachment and the recordings, thank you.
We would also need server- and client-side logs. Please follow the instructions you can find here and send them in the same way as you did your nxd log 🙂 https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243
Could you also tell us if the mouse offset is getting bigger when you move it to the bottom right corner of the screen (with show remote cursor enabled).
Thanks.
April 28, 2023 at 01:53 #44030redss55ParticipantOk. That link is the same link as the earlier link that I followed.
The mouse offset is always the same size regardless of whether it’s in the upper left or the bottom right

May 27, 2023 at 04:06 #44435redss55ParticipantThe jumping cursor problem returned when I updated NoMachine on the Mac (server side) from 8.4.2 to 8.5.3
So I want to revert my Mac software back to 8.4.2
(Unless anybody can think of some setting that caused this to happen, which is likely)
Where can I download v8.4.2 of Mac NoMachine?
June 6, 2023 at 15:10 #44497BritgirlKeymaster1) Open the NoMachine UI on your computer -> Player settings -> Input and check option ‘Always show remote cursor pointer’.
Create a new session and see if both cursors jump.
2) Edit node.cfg on the server host and set:
DisplayServerExtraOptions “-nocursorlock”
Create a new session and see if both cursors jump.
What do you observe?
