No audio on HMDI Raspberry Pi 3+

I have installed pulseaudio on the pi and run audiosetup. I can now get audio on headphones but not on HDMI.

The server is running Ubuntu 18.04 Mate, client rasbian on the pi, both running pulseaudio.

Make sure you choose the correct output according to the article below: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/audio-config.md

What’s more, you can use PulseAudio Volume Control which helps in configuration. Check if HDMI is the default audio output.

Thanks very much for the links. I tried everything then finally I got it to work by adding the line hdmi_drive=2 to the config.txt on the pi. I was ready to give up as I had already spent a lot of time on it.
