ParticipantI have upgraded our Linux workstation to openSUSE Leap 15.2 and am unable to open an NX window since then.
When starting NoMachine on the client (also Leap 15.2) I can connect to the server and login with my user name, but I get the message “No available sessions on this server”.The latest versions ‘nomachine-workstation_7.0.211_4_x86_64’
and ‘nomachine_7.0.211_4_x86_64’ are installed on server and client, respectively. The graphic card on the server is nVidia GP107GL [Quadro P1000] with the proprietary driver.

ParticipantHello Michel,
we have received your logs, but we will need debug logs to investigate further.
We will need you to enable debug, restart nxserver and then reproduce the issue (connect using nxplayer).
Instructions on how to extract logs are here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT11R00182#2
Send them directly to us via email to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com and we will take a look. Please use the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!

ContributorHello,
The problem seems to be that there is no local node added to the database.
The corresponding log in nxserver.log would be:
11735 11735 2021-01-20 17:09:17 933.984 nxserver local node is not in the database, skip find X servers.
The local node should be in the database by default and since you have a workstation license and removing
the local node is impossible, most likely there is a bug in the install/update procedure. You could use the following command:
sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --addtoredis
to initialize the database.
I can see the logs from install and update, but only for version 7.0.211. Please let us know if you had any other NoMachine versions installed previously, so we could pinpoint any update problems.

ParticipantI have performed the addtoredis command. The connection works again!!! Thank you!
I had upgraded to version 7.0.211 from nomachine-workstation_6.9.2_1_x86_64.rpm but the problem already existed before the upgrade.

ParticipantThanks for this message, this helped solve the issue I had with my ArchLinux install after upgrading from 7.0.211 to 7.1.3
Basically, I had to do this:sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --addtoredis
sudo systemctl restart nxserverI had the “Cannot detect any display running” error message and with all this, I’m back on track.

ParticipantHad the same issue, resolved it the same way (using Manjaro). Can it be an issue on two-new platforms? My specs:
Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.10.7-3-MANJARO OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-6600U CPU @ 2.60GHz Memory: 11.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 520

ContributorHello
Yes it is not platform dependent issue and it may happen on install everywhere. It should be resolved in the next update, and in the meantime the workaround described here should fix it.
