Hi All,
I am trying to get the local host screen to blank upon remote connect, but the instructions and settings I have found do not seem to work, so I would like to check a few things.
I am using a Windows 7 x64 host, with two Windows 7 x64 virtual machines on VirtualBox. The two VMs are running NoMachine 5.1.26.
According to these instructions:
Blanking the host screen during remote control
– https://www.nomachine.com/blanking-the-host-screen-during-remote-controlSimply checking that Security option should do things: lock the local host from keyboard and mouse input and blank the local machine screen so that local users cannot see what the remote user is doing.
But reading the actual option description only mentions locking the host keyboard and mouse. This functionality works fine, but the local user is still able to see the local screen, not a blank screen as I expected.
Does the blank screen option work for the free client or only for the Enterprise products?
These two links mention Server, but I wasn’t clear if that was specifically the Enterprise Server products or the NX server allowing basic remote connections on the free client.

Screen blanking on virtual machines is not supported, since it has effect on the physical monitor.
We will update the documentation to be more clear about that.

I have tested the VM to physical scenario and the screen blanking does work as expected on the physical machine.
Do you have any insight on why I get a blank screen upon initial connection, where the local machine is waiting for the Windows login prompt?
To clarify, I initiate a session to the remote host. The remote host turns to a blank screen (per the connection settings), but the NoMachine client also has a blank screen. If I disconnect, I see that the remote machine is waiting for the initial Windows CTRL+ALT+DEL to login message.
Is there a way around this so that users can pass a CTRL+ALT+DEL signal through the player, to the remote host, and then login to Windows with their own credentials?
Thank you.

We aren’t aware of problems as you described i.e seeing a blank screen on the client once you’ve connected to the remote host. As an FYI, CTRL+ALT+DEL can be sent to the remote host. Check this article in the online Knowledge Base:
