I just de-installed & re-installed NoMachine on Windows 10 because it stopped working. It still doesn’t work, but researching the topic noted that someone else had the same problem when they enabled the Linux Windows extra components, & I have recently done that too, so I assume that is what is stopping NoMachine from working. I’m going to try turning it off, but I want to leave them installed, to easily bring up bash, since I’ve started using AI tools which often have their documentation referring to Linux installations.

Hi. This problem with the Subsystem for Linux is causing headache since some time now,  and we still can’t get what is the particular system configuration that is causing it. The application abort is caused by an unwanted access to a WSL mount point, very likely caused by a injected call out of our control. We can’t reproduce it in our labs, so we were unable to make a deeper analysis.

Would you like to execute a script to get some data on your machine? The diagnostics would be helpful to drive us through the configuration needed to reproduce the issue. You should just download the zip file attached to this post, and run the BAT file that will execute the PS1 script. Such script will create a TXT on your desktop, that you can inspect to verify the data collected. Once you’ve verified everything is correct, you can send it to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com for the analysis.

    Thanks!
