Redirecting port

I’m helping a friend set up his NoMachine server.  Nothing I’ve tried allows a gateway port to map to 4000.  UPnP is enabled, and I did indicate the mapping information there.  Everything I’ve tried has failed.  My question is about redirecting as an option listed in the server.cfg file.  If I enable the redirecting for NX, what value should follow the line NX: after it’s unremarked?

Information how to enable UPnP port mapping on nxserver is available here: https://www.nomachine.com/AR11L00827. Just set EnableUPnP NX in the /usr/NX/etc/server.cfg.

After changes in server.cfg you should restart nxserver (sudo /usr/NX/bin/nxserver --restart).

External IP and port on which you can connect you can find on “Welcome screen” on the NoMachine player. You can also execute command sudo /usr/NX/bin/nxserver --upnpmap. External IP and port should show in the line starting with “NX port 4000 mapped to”.

Thank you for all your suggestions which should have worked.  Normally, NoMachine configures all these things automatically provided UPnP is enabled in the router.  NoMachine automatically creates the port forwarding information, but I’ve also manually entered the information as well.  I’ve also set things in the server.cfg file, restarted the server and ran the nxserver –upnpmap command.  There’s still a mapping problem.  I think the person I’m trying to help needs to contact his service provider concerning his problem.

Yes, they might be able to help. Look out for NoMachine Network. It will allow people to connect to each other’s computer behind routers and firewalls, without the need for knowing their IP address, and configuring their routers to pass NoMachine traffic to the necessary ports.
