I am using a MacBook Pro to connect to a Linux machine. According to the documentation, holding down the control key and pressing the left mouse button should result in a right click, if the Emulate right mouse button setting has been checked. But the control key has no effect.
NoMachine version (client and server): 7.7.4
Client OS: macOS 12.0.1
Server OS: openSUSE Leap 15.3
Server display manager: KDE PlasmaDecember 21, 2021 at 14:20 #36764TorParticipantHi. Locally on your Mac, is the Control + Left click on the desktop opening the context menu, like the right mouse click normally does? Do you use settings or applications changing keys mapping?
What is the operation you’re trying to execute on the remote server with the emulated right click? We didn’t reproduce issues with it, but we’d like to run a test closer to your working conditions.December 21, 2021 at 15:24 #36772glevnerParticipantOn the Mac, ctrl-left works fine, same as right click. I am not aware of any key mapping changes.
On the remote Linux machine, I had assumed that this was a generalized problem, but it turns out that it is only on the desktop that the problem appears. Ctrl-left on the desktop background does nothing. In the task manager (the bar at the bottom of the screen) and in the Dolphin file manager app, however, ctrl-left does emulate the right mouse button correctly. So perhaps the problem is specific to the desktop (KDE Plasma in this case)?
Thanks,

and verify that “Right-Button” action is associated to “Standard Menu” in the combo box.December 21, 2021 at 17:15 #36779glevnerParticipantWell, yes, the right mouse button is set up correctly, it works fine. The problem is with emulation of the right mouse button by ctrl-left. Ctrl-left on the desktop does nothing when Emulate right mouse button is checked.

We extended the issue investigation to more systems and found that, in some circumstances due to how the different applications handle the keyboard modifiers, the right click is sent correctly but it is just ignored. This is the case of the Plasma desktop you’re testing. Unfortunately there are no workarounds to the right click emulation, we have an idea about a fix but it’ll need a software update.
In the meanwhile I’ve opened this Trouble Report to track the problem, you could subscribe to know when it’ll be released:https://www.nomachine.com/TR12S10422
Thank you for your report.
