I connect from a Windows 10 host with a 27″ monitor to an M1 MacBook Air running MacOS 11.4 Big Sur. I use NoMachine in fullscreen mode with the option to resize the MacOS resolution to fit. When I close the connection, the MacBook Air does not reset to its native resolution and I have to do it manually through System Preferences | Displays.

It’s a relatively minor issue but I just wondered if there’s a setting I can adjust to fix it or if it’s on a list of issues to be fixed.

Just to update this with one method for a workaround, I’ve discovered that if I disconnect, and then restart the NoMachine server on macOS the screen will return to its former (i.e. correct) resolution. However, unless it can be automated on disconnection, it’s no better than going into System Preferences to reset the resolution.
