    Hi,

I am setting up a very basic proof of concept between 2 windows computers. My environment is below:

    – 2 Windows 10 1809 LTSC computers

    – 1 is acting as the host running NoMachine Enterprise Desktop and the other is the client running NoMachine Enterprise Client

    – Both machines are Workgroup machines on the same LAN connected to the same switch.

    – Both machines do have Level 1 CIS baselines applied containing Local policies.

I have allowed TCP/4000 in the local firewall and when I attempt to connect to the host from the client, I enter the local account name/password and click send. On the host I click Accept and then on the client it immediately displays “The session negotiation failed”. I have tried both local accounts, local admin account as well as enabling the guest sharing mode.

I am out of ideas. Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi,

Just like to say that permissions for nx user were missing from local policies and that a reinstall of the software resolved this for me.

    Thanks

    Hello RedBoss,

Could you let us know which local policies were missing?
Do you also use Active Directory?

    Hi Zaq,

    It was missing:

    – Act as part of the operating system

    – Log on as a service

    – Adjust memory quotas for a process

    – Replace a process level token

Not using AD, this is just local workgroup for now.

    Thanks,
