I tried out NoMachine’s sound a few months ago and it worked fine. Now when I try it on the same two machines, a bootcamped imac and a regular macbook, I can’t seem to get any good sound. The sound is extremely low quality, static-y, and deepened. The picture quality and interaction speeds are fine, the audio is the only problem. I’ve tried adjusting the audio quality settings, but it doesn’t help. I’m running windows 8.1 on my imac and 10.9.4 on my macbook. Neither have been updated recently.

Hello zspace, thank you for reporting this issue.

I tried to reproduce it but without any result. Could you give me more info? e.g version of NoMachine on both machines, and direction of connection (which machine is server)? Maybe an update on both computers could fix this issue (if you are not using the latest version).

Can you confirm that this is using the latest version of NoMachine, both sides?

Sorry for the late reply. The Version of NoMachine is 4.6.16 The version of Windows (running bootcamped on a 2011 imac) is 8.1. I am remote desktoping to my macbook pro, 2009. I tried connecting to the imac using both Ethernet and wifi, neither works. I attached an audio clip of what it sounds like. This is the Beatles “let it be” song.

I had this problem as well, 4.6.16. turning off HDMI sound (if you’re using normal speakers) on the client helped to limit the problem some.

    Hey zspace,

Please help us to investigate further by sending us the logs. Instructions here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT04M00076 and send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Could you clarify – you connect from your Macbook to Windows (bootcamped on iMac)? If yes, please use instruction: “3. Gather server side logs on Windows” and “5. Gather client side logs on Mac OS X”.
