We are evaluating NoMachine with a view to using it to deploy a Windows application to our Customers and everything works except that we are unable to print to a local USB connected label printer which is a key requirement.

Local machine is running Win 10 and NoMachine 6.066 and is connected using the NX protocol and with an account that is in the Administrators group on the server

Remote machine is running Windows server 2016 and NoMachine Enterprise Desktop Evaluation ver 6.066

When we try and connect the printer using Device->connect a Printer it shows a green dot next to it so looks like its connected but when we try and print from say notepad the local printer is not available

When we try and connect via Devices->Connect a USB Device it shows an exclamation mark next to the printer

We have successfully connected and printed to a wireless network connected printer.

    Local nxusb.log log is showing:
    20.01.2018 10:09:10 – “RootHub#1\Port 9” was successfully shared on TCP port :5041
20.01.2018 10:09:10 – Shared device “DYMO LabelWriter 450” at “RootHub#1\Port 9” is waiting for client connection on TCP port :5041
    20.01.2018 10:09:33 – “RootHub#1\Port 9” on TCP port 5041 was unshared successfully

    Remote nxdevice.log is showing:
ERROR! Failed to chcek status of driver service.
    6104 1928 10:09:06 145.372 VerifyDriverPackage: Error is ‘1060’.
    7864 7868 10:10:44 159.258 PrinterAdd: ERROR! Cannot add printer.
    Error code is : ‘1003’.

Any help appreciated as once we can print to local USB printers we can purchase licences and deploy to our Customers

To be able to investigate this issue we need to ask a few more questions.

    1. Have you tried to share any USB flash drive from Devices -> Connect a USB Device menu? Any problems there?

    2. Are all necessary drivers and services for DYMO LabelWriter 450 printer installed on both machines?

    3. Have you tried to print something from notepad on the server?

    4. Have you tried to connect your printer directly to the client and print?

    5. Is the printer connected to USB 3.0 port or to USB 2.0?

    1. Have you tried to share any USB flash drive from Devices -> Connect a USB Device menu? Any problems there?

I successfuly connected a pen drive which then appeared under C:\Users\username\Desktop

    2. Are all necessary drivers and services for DYMO LabelWriter 450 printer installed on both machines?

The required drivers are only on the client not on the server but I don’t even see the printer definition when I try and print from notepad

    3. Have you tried to print something from notepad on the server?

I have successfully printed to a network connect printer on the client from the server but not a USB connected printer which is what I need to be able to do

    4. Have you tried to connect your printer directly to the client and print?

The printer in question is a label printer which I can only connect to the client via USB but yes it does work when I print on the client to it but not when I am connected through NoMachine

    5. Is the printer connected to USB 3.0 port or to USB 2.0?

    USB 3

Also some screen prints attached which may help the diagnosis

    Hello,

Can you please reproduce two different tests with restarting both machines between them?

Test 1: Try to forward your printer from Devices -> Connect a Printer.

Test 2: Try to forward your printer from Device -> Connect USB device.

Short instruction how to collect logs https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00163

NOTE 1. Please collect SESSION logs before closing session (before closing the NoMachine Player window).

NOTE 2. Please make sure the clocks are synchronized on the machines. it’s important for us to have the same time on both machines.

We’ve just sent you a link to the package you are meant to use 🙂 please install it and then follow Giorgi-G’s instructions.
