solotubParticipantHi, I started using NoMachine for my dedicated MacInCloud server and have been having issues with the physical USB forwarding. In the USB page, NoMachine does not detect any of MacInClouds remote USB devices but my local devices are detected. But everytime I connect, I get an error saying it failed to connect. However, printers and disk drivers are working normally.
I’ve gone through quite a few threads with similar problems, but all of them either differed from mine, the solution did not work for me, or was never resolved.
There was another thread I saw that was made a week ago with the exact same issue and I tried posting in that thread but it seems that thread is not active.
Would appreciate any advice/help. Thanks!

Giorgi-G.ContributorHi,
Can you please share the NoMachine version you have installed on that VM? If it’s lower than 7.7.4, I would suggest updating.
In addition please take a look at this article: https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/AR01P00962

solotubParticipantHi Giorgi,
Thanks for the response. I ended up re-installing NoMachine and it ended up connecting. Now I’m having the issues where the supposedly connected iPhone doesn’t show up on my MacOS. This seems identical to the trouble report https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/TR07S10310. I’m guessing at the moment this is something that can’t be resolved?

Giorgi-G.ContributorHi,
I made a couple of tests with a macOSX from MacInCloud Dedicated Server, and can confirm that there is an issue with forwarding any type of USB device via NoMachine. At the moment we. are fixing the issue, and it will soon be available.
A temporary workaround for macOSX provided by MacInCloud is. the following:
– Restart remote macOSX
– Connect to remote macOSX, do not enter to NoMachine’s USB devices window.
– Run the following command in the remote macOS’s terminal (no error messages should be displayed):
sudo kextload /Library/Application\ Support/NoMachine/Extensions/nxusbvic_11.0.kext
– Go to NoMachine’s USB devices tab and forward the required device.
These steps should be repeated every time after remote macOSX restart.
Also, please pay attention to the ping time. In my case, I took a Dedicated Server too far with 100+ ms ping time, which made forwarded USB devices usage extremely slow.
