    Hello,

I’ve just updated one of my systems running Debian from Bookworm to Trixie, and after the update when I try to connect to the system with NoMachine all I get on the client machine is a white screen. The host system is running KDE on Wayland (I think it was running Wayland on Bookworm as well, but I have no way of checking now), and when I connect the client I do get the popup message that a client is connected on the host, although after a while on the client the white screen disappears and instead I get the error that the connection with the server was lost with error 104.

Both client and host are running the free version of NoMachine to the latest version available (9.3.7), both system run KDE/Wayland (client is with Sid). The host has a physical display.

Hi, can you send us the logs from the server machine? Set the log level to debug, restart the server, reproduce the problem, then gather the logs. Please follow the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT08U00298#1.1. Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com using the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!

Hi, I’ve sent the logs as requested. I’ve also tried to launch the KDE environment with X11 instead of Wayland, and with X11 it works.

ok, this is weird… I said how NoMachine would show a white screen with Wayland, but it would work when using X11. Well, after starting the KDE session again with Wayland after I got it working with X11, now it work with Wayland as well. Just to clarify, I had rebooted the machine 3-4 times and tried with the Wayland server before switching to X11, and I would always get the white screen.

Good to know it’s working. We got the logs, but the agent logs were missing. If it happens again, send us new logs. First, set ‘SessionLogClean 0’ in /usr/NX/etc/node.cfg to avoid they are automatically cleaned up.
