I’m running NoMachine 8.2.3 on Windows 10 64bit set to H.264 “Use specific codec” and “Use hardware encoding” checked. The PC has NVIDIA GTX 1060. Hardware encoding is not working though (SW encoding, H.264). I’m connected to this computer fromĀ  laptop with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and on the client I have HW decoding, VA but that’s not important right? The server side encoding should be always available when it’s supported by GPU?

Hi, please make sure you update to the latest version.

A Trouble Report was recently fixed which appears to be the problem you were encountering.

GPU Hardware encoding with NVENC doesn’t work with NoMachine Windows packages at 64bit

Thanks. I confirm that the problem appears to be fixed in version 8.3.1, NoMachine now says HW encoding, H264, NVENC.
