X264 – kubuntu 14.04

I just upgraded my client machine from kubuntu 13.10 to 14.04. Before the upgrade I was connecting to a windows 7 machine using the x264 codec. Now that I have upgraded it will only connect using VP8. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? I just tested again today with 4.2.22 with same result.

Are you using the free NoMachine version? If so, how did you enable x264 before the upgrade, did you buy the AVC packed or you had ffmpeg installed?

Can you please copy the output of  the ‘locate libavcodec.so’ command?

Yes I am using the free version. I compiled libx264 myself. It worked beautifully in 13.10 but will not work in 14.04.

Please try:

ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libavcodec.so.54 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libavcodec.so
ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libavutil.so.51 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libavutil.so
