Unfortunately, I moved on and installed Debain 11 Bullseye with NoMachine. I was running Debian 10.
Hopefully, NoMachine will support Wayland in the future.
If it is very important, I could try rebuilding on another SD card. If it helps, the Pi involved is a 3 Model B
