Mouse clicks not working after upgrading to Linux Mint 22

I want to reopen this topic as I have the exact same problem as https://forum.nomachine.com/topic/mouse-clicks-not-working-after-upgrading-to-linux-mint-21 but with Mint 22.

I have a local machine running Mint 20, and a remote running Mint 22. When Mint 20 is serving everything is fine. When Mint 22 is serving I get mouse movement, but no response to clicks and no keyboard input to it.
