Trying to connect a NXserver 3.5.0-11 on Linux from Nomachine client version 4.0.360 on Mac OSX
This is the error the appears on the NoMachine client:
“The session negotiation failed. Error: invalid commend: ‘login'”

If you open the connection log, you see this:
Linux
NX> 900 NXSERVER – Version 3.5.0-11
NX> 500 ERROR: Invalid command: ‘login’.

Usage: nxserver [Option]

–help

Show this message.

–version

Show version of NX Server.
followed by the rest of the help file.

Hi areem11,

to connect by client 4 to server 3.5.0 with SSH you must choose ‘Use the NoMachine login’ . You can select it by clicking on Advanced from the connection settings panel.

‘Use the system login’ method is not supported by server 3.5.0.
