Unable to use ALT+ for Linux GDM

Hello. I use NoMachine for remoting a Linux Mint 18 computer. When this machine is locked to the GDM login screen I cannot get for instance ALT+3 to work. When I click this combination there is no character sent to the login screen. After login I have no issues sending these characters.

This is problem for me cause I use some certain ALT+<NUM> combinations for some passwords. 🙁 Is there a known way to get round this issue?

This is NoMachine free version. Linux side is version 5.1.62_1 amd64 for debian. And client side is Windows 10 with version 5.1.62_1. Desktop on Mint is Cinnamon and login is GDM with the standard Mint theme (I think!, not customized anything).

Do you mean the problem is with Alt+Numpad combinations, i.e. ones providing chars basing on their ASCII code, for example Alt+126 = ~ (tilde)?
